Luscious Lovely Lato 2014

Row #4 Complete

It is a pretty pattern. Of course: it is Renulek!

I have run out of the pink Venus thread. So, I added the green Lizbeth and will have to see what happens next before I figure how the colours will develop. You just never know with these row by row adventures, do you?

A new plant? A bud? No. More Lizbeth slubs - and uneven thickness - and knots. Grrrr.

This is a brand new ball of #80 and I am totally disgusted with the quality. Again! I don’t know why I bother.

Yes, I do. The colours, the colours and nothing but the colours. Otherwise I would not give you two cents for this awful thread.

Because of the large open spaces in this pattern, Lucky Clover is becoming a bit awkward to handle, even though it is not terribly large. There is a lot of manoeuvring for each element, slowing down the process considerably.

  1. Everything looks great! Maybe we she tell Handy Hands straight out, cause they may not be reading the blogs!

  2. Another lovely doily in progress! I have found an occasional slub or knot in my balls of Lizbeth thread, but not enough to cause the frustrations you have faced. It seems that you are getting all the bad luck with this thread. I can only imagine your exasperation!

  3. Both doilies are looking so beautiful!!!! :)
I understand the frustration with the thread, but it's the best of the threads I have used quality-wise. :) I hope things get better!!! :)

  4. Gorgeous work! I am not having the nasty trouble with the Lizbeth right now, but I have had balls like that in the size 80. So far I'm doing ok with the bigger sizes. But grrrrrrrrr. Breaks, looks like crap, etc.

  5. Luscious indeed. Beautiful and although not intentional, the colours work so well.

  8. Both doilies are looking wonderful. I love the color change - seems like this row was perfect for changing color.

I have had quite a lot of trouble with Lizbeth threads, too - so many balls have had so MANY knots, uneven thickness, and big slubs that have to be cut out. If I *wanted* knots, I would have used 2 threads, not tried to wind my shuttles CTM. I've just about quit buying Lizbeth thread.

    Regards to Mr. G.

    1. Thanks, Stephanie.

I have only a few partial balls of #40 left as I got rid of, gave away my small stash of it, but I replaced it with # 80 Lizbeth, thinking it was going to be much better! Luckily, I did not order tons if if, but I do have quite a few balls. I didn't know what other thread to get!

    1. I'm agree, it's perfect in the 80 size. But in 40 size, there is so much little available color!
