Tischband Terminus

This is as good as it gets.  I am putting this book back on the shelf, as I have given it a hearty workout, completing two Tischbands.  Not my favourite kind of tatting, though I love the little flower.

HDT #40, Fancy Fields, by Jess
Pattern: OCCI, Schiffchenspitze Frivolité
 #6/100
Actually, I really like the leaves as well on their own; the last two were easy to tat and looked just fine.

It was the tatting together with the flower motif that I did not like doing, as it always felt like such an awkward squeeze.

Maybe the leaves on their own with another motif...  Ah, we’ll see!

  1. You did such a good job! I really love it. It's pleasant to look at. Reminds me of spring.
Did you think that the Tatting program you have a Master pin for on your blog was a worth while investment? I clicked on the link and read a little about it, but your blog is the only place I've heard of it. Could you tell me more about it sometime?

    1. Carol, I have written tons about the benefits of the TAT programme, and cannot find any of it to put here, of course!

So, to be short and sweet: I did it in one year to learn fast and furiously. Glad I did.

I had the money at the time and the time to tat. So I barrelled through and learned tons. I have binders of everything so I can always go back and re-learn what I forget. There is a lot there for a beginner and you can take as long as you want to finish. Apparently no one does it in the short amount of time that I did - but that is me!

I say, if you have the shekels, love to tat and love to learn there is no negative to taking the course. I loved it and have mainly good things to say.

  2. It's beautiful! I've been working on one as well, with a new color that I haven't shown yet. But it doesn't look nearly as wonderful as yours :o)

  4. Very nice as always! I was thinking about one or two leaves and some of Jeanne Lugert's three -dimensional roses would make a pretty brooch. Ideas, ideas....

    1. those leaves would make a much better brooch back then the one I designed. I didn't know how to do these then. you are right, they would look very good.

  6. Lovely, Fox. I confess I really didn't enjoy working the last leaf into the motif, but I really enjoy the individual elements.

  10. Hi Fox,

They are lovely and you have used gorgeous colours, you might not like tatting it but you have done a good job and should be proud of this motif.
    Well done
I have not had time to do it which is a pity but that's life too many things on the go at the moment.
